Under 11.2.13.5 - "Pre-operational inspections shall be conducted by qualified personnel"

Under 11.2.13.6 - "staff amenities, sanitary facilities and other areas shall be inspected by qualified personnel to ensure the areas are clean, at a defined frequency"

My question - what kind of training would be needed to qualify as a qualified personnel under 11.2.13.15 and 11.2.13.6. Would the training be different?

Also with 11.2.13.6 for a defined frequency - what would be a reasonable frequency.

Thanks.

Good afternoon.

"Qualified personnel" simply means that the person conducting the inspection is trained in a) what they are inspecting (in this case cleaning), and b) trained to conduct the inspection (ie complete the form, what to look for, etc.). It is important that you document this training so that you can demonstrate to an auditor how the person conducting inspections is qualified to do so.

As for frequency, it will really depend on the defined risk within your industry and if you deem these areas to be of risk or not for your operations. We do a daily pre-op inspection which includes general cleaniless in higher risk areas (ie production, storage, etc.) and a monthly complete GMP inspection which covers the whole building.
