I just got dinged for UPS Ground shipments not having the inspection guidelines in place to ensure integrity. UPS has been unable to provide anything so far. It has to be in accordance with 11.6.5.1 for SQF. We ship at least half of our product through the mail so I am wondering how to solve this. I saw the other post about defending our packaging for UPS and Fedex LTL, but unsure if they will accept this as the corrective action. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

SQF has added this without realizing just how much product is traded either as you mentioned or LTL. We are in the same position (we also sell on an internet platform, plus have our own online store)

Try and get some sort of statement from UPS (you may find something in the FAQ area) and then add that the product is packaged in such a way that any tampering would be obvious (i.e. clearly repacked upon arrival

Carrier Companies

  • As a small company, we only ship or receive LTL using companies that we have approved for use.  As all other LTL shipments, there is no way to seal the trailer and have the seal remain to the final destination, as vehicle makes other pickups and deliveries prior to ours rendering the seal ineffective. Our Service provider approval program is used in lieu of a seal.
  • Approved carriers are indicated on the Service Providers Registry.    Any other carrier considered for shipping must be evaluated verbally following the Supplier/Service Provider Approval Program.  We will then send them documentation to sign and agree to the terms and conditions before being accepted as an approved service provider. This program is updated annually

We ask our suppliers and customers to ensure they use approved carriers

I didn't receive any push back from the auditor last year
