We are currently FSSC 22000 certified. We have an offsite warehouse to store raw ingredients, packaging materials and finished products. It is about 20 minutes away from the production plant.  All the shipping/receiving paperwork is at the warehouse.
My question is if the warehouse will be entering in a certification process separate from the plant certification?
My second question is which certification will good for a low-risk,  room temperature storage warehouse?
Your help will be highly appreciated.

Separate certification.

Would not qualify as multi-site, add-on etc.

I'd go for SQF Storage and Distribution or IFS.

HI,

Why would this not qualify as Multi site? Could you please elaborate?

AS per FSSC 22000 Scheme Version 5.1,  "Manufacturers , caterers or retailers/wholesalers that only store and/or transport their own products and do not provide a service to others shall be audited under the category linked to their production activities". Doesn't this imply that we can consider the storage facility under the same certification process?

Kindly let me know your view.

Thanks

We have the same situation: separate manufacturing plant and warehouse (packaging and refrigerated finished product storage). We're with FSSC22000 and have been audited for both plant & warehouse, for the same certificate. That was as per CB suggestion, and so far has been going smoothly. I think, FSSC22000 is quite good for your needs.

Thank you for the quick response. Could you please let me know if you have two separate HACCP plans for each facility or one HACCP plan which incorporates all the steps involved in both the facilities ?
