SQF Storage & Distribution Ver 8.1
12.5.6.2
Compressed air systems, system used to store or dispense other gasses used in the storage and
distribution process shall be maintained and regularly monitored for quality and microbiological purity.
I am attaching this element 12.5.6.2 for compress air quality and microbiological purity. As a warehouse that ships only prepacked ingredients and Finished Good cereals, the only time we use compress air for dunnage when loading.trailers.
Is this testing really required?

The catch is - if the compressed air comes into contact with food or a surface that touches food, then testing is required.
If no touching primary or secondary - no testing.
