We are in the process of becoming SQF certified.  Previously we validated our cleaning methods using a quantitative method like ELISA. However SQF allows for qualitative test like the lateral flow test kits.

From the articles I've read, to validate your cleaning process, lateral flow kits should only be used to verify cleaning methods.

My question - while SQF allows for lateral flow kits to be used for allergen cleaning validation, does the USDA or FDA allow it.

Yes - we used lateral flow kits in a meat processing plant and also used them at a fruit processing company.
