We are BRC certified and have a vegetable dehydration plant. 1 out of our 5 warehouses has been empty for half a year and will be for the foreseeable future. We have been approached by an equipment manufacturer (quads, snowmobiles, etc) to rent that warehouse to them for storage. All equipment will be in boxes and have no liquids (gas, oil). Is that acceptable in the BRC standard? Thanks in advance for any feedback.

I am assuming that right now the warehouse is part of your BRC inspection.

If that is the case, you simply contact your CB and inform them that you are taking this warehouse out of operation.

Then, go ahead and rent it out.

What if all the warehouses are connected and say we rented #4, in order to ship that equipment out, we would have to drive it through warehouse #1-3 (which would still be packaged dehydrated vegetables). Would that affect anything? or would we have to look into creating doors in #4 leading to the outside to skip moving the equipment through BRC certified warehouses.
