I am looking at SQF Code 8.1 Requirement 2.8.1 that states a risk analysis needs to be done for raw materials, ingredients, and processing aids, including food grade lubricants, that contain food allergens.

We have allergen statements for the food grade lubricants/chemicals that our maintenance department uses.  How would we handle the non-food grade chemicals that are stored in our maintenance area.  The non-food grade chemicals are stored in a locked cabinet and can only be used by maintenance personnel.

Hi r.bub,

How did you get the necessary allergen data for the lubricants etc? >>>>> other chemicals also ?

Or maybe have a look at this post/thread where a similar kind of situation maybe existed for 2.8.1(ii) -

Looks like you have sufficient separation of maintenance chemicals. What else could be added is training for maintenance personnel, post-maintenance cleaning procedure, SDS book at the maintenance room and posted instruction on chemical storage, handling, usage, etc.
