Hello! I am new to ifsqn and I am searching for an online training course to become more familiar with the labelling regulations in both USA and Canada. For food and dietary supplements. Do any of you have any recommendations? Online resources, Payed resources, Training. Thank you! B.

Hi FoodB; Honestly, I've never heard of such training - I mean, if there're specific regulations why don't you just read them? For Canada, it's Safe Food for Canadians regulations and Consumer Packaging & Labelling regulation, for US it's FDA's Food Labelling Guide (there might be some other regulatory doc's for US, but I know only this one). If you want the docs - let me know and I'll attach them.

Hi

Thank you for your response. I have been reviewing the regulations directly, but don't want to miss any of the details especially with the new nutritional facts labels. I was hoping to find some resources to summarize key features and help navigate the regs. I considered taking this course from AIB https://www.aibinter...beling-Training, but at the end of the day, I think I just have to dive deep into the regs and make my own summary notes. The requirements are so product specific that it may not be worth the general training.

These are the online resources I frequently refer to for labelling reviews.

FDA

Code of Federal Regulations (CFR): Title 21 - Food and Drugs - Part 101--Food Labeling
Food Labeling Guide

Health Canada

If you have any documents that you think may be helpful, I would appreciate if you could send them so I can take a quick look.

Thanks,

B

AIB International does have a Food Labeling Online course that is very beneficial for U.S. regulations.  It covers all the basics of labeling.  You can find it at https://www.aibinter...abeling-Online

Let me know if you have any questions.  You can reach me at emeloan@aibinternational.com

You can reach out to Prime Label Consultants as a resource for seminars and label reviews. They usually have a conferences annually to discuss issues and changes to regs, but with Covid, they are doing remote seminars.
