Dear Forum,

I hope none ever post it in this forum. Coz I think its a very common question..

What is your wildest dream up until now? I have tons of wild dreams from childhood until now.. But I realize a sad thing when I am on a journey to come back home a day before yesterday... I have reach none of it... And I am start to think maybe it doesnt matter anymore... Just walk away and forget it... What the most real and logic thing is reality.... Besides, as someone says: "Hope hurts"....

BTW, the most wild, insane, crazy dream of mine is: "I want to be one of the great cartoonist/mangaka (Japan's Comic)that remembered for decades...". Silly huh? Its waaaaay Off Topic from what I am doin right now...:p

Arya

Hello Arya,

I always wanted to play for Manchester United but at 42 years of age I don't think Alex Ferguson will be knocking on my door any time soon. I was OK at football but really that career was only ever a wildest dream. If I had my time again I would pursue a singing career; my passion is music and although I don't play any instruments, apart from a bit of guitar, I do have a very good singing voice. And honestly I’m not just another deluded X factor wannabee. I used to be in a rock group at University but we were more into the other aspects of rock n roll than the music. We broke up after about a year. Yes I love singing and I’m actually thinking of joining a choir in the near future, so although I won’t be cutting any records I will still be doing what I love to do.

Regards,
Simon
Dear Simon,

Ah... Football... What a wonderful word... I found myself addicted to the same dream of yours at High School era. I am imagining myself, traveling from Local Club (FC Persikasi).. enter the Main Division Club (FC Persija)... Dribbling into the National Team.. Then go far east to Ganba Osaka in Japan... Juggling to the West after Munich... Found myself as a loan player in AC Milan for a while.. then suddenly Fergie wants me feel the rush of Premiere League.. Finally, I am joining on my most favorite Team: Real Madrid, and happily ever after...:) Hummm, after second thought, I wonder is this much more wild then my dream to be a cartoonist?

However, I figure myself not talented in playin' the music, only love to hear it. Drawing is my only "sane" art. Believe me, you dont want to hear me sing... BTW, what about the other members? Do you care to share us your wildest dream?

Regards,

Arya
Hey Arya, have you got some of your Manga art to show us?
Hi Arya,

My dream was to become a scientist and to develop some drugs to cure some deadly illness and to get a Nobel Prize. I used write in my dairy almost daily for nearly 4 to 5years thinking this would help me in making my autobiography after I succeed in my wildest dreams…..

I had also thought if I could do something like Alfred Nobel and have a will for some important discoveries or inventions or even findings……yeah the weird dream.

I feel each person has dreams which keep changing as they age.
Dear All,

I'm amazed that everyone's wds are so pristine.

Nobody interested in candlelight assignations with famous movie stars or tennis players ?

(or was that the manga bit ?)

Rgds / Charles.C

To Charles C.: Naaah.. I prefer to be the famous person rather than havin dinner with him/her:)

To Simon: Sorry, I guess I am just the shy as Newsgirl in this case:) Even if I (somehow) manage to be a mangaka, I will use an alias instead of my real name. My name maybe goin' to be adulterated with a little Jap's touch like: "Aruya".

To J: Hmm, I wonder... After Simon, my dream is the same like yours when I sitting on Senior high School. I am obsessed to be a nuclear scientists... And if my beloved Mom was not forbid me at that time, I might (somehow) pick a nuclear path and compete with Yoichiro Nambu et. al. to win Nobel prize this year:).

Arya
Right now my wildest dream is to get a good nights sleep and shake off this cold. Jean is right dreams change over time, well mine do anyhow. I get to a point where I say well I didn't manage that goal so time to pick another. Only joking.

Depending on my mood I have several favourite songs of all time. Imagine is one of them. Beautiful.
Boring I know.....but I've always wanted to buy a few acres of land and plant every single tree to create a woodland.
Hopefully I would still be around to see the trees mature and then sit in the middle contemplating life like a "Flake advert" whilst Mother Nature looks on.

A flake advert? The only flake advert I can think of is the one where the bath is overflowing with water and there are long silky legs everywhere. Or was it trees?
Dear Dawny and Simon,

I... dont really get with this "Flake Advert" thing, help on me please?

To As Nur: Ahh... The world without war.. how wonderful. You know, when I was about 15 years old, I have wild imagination to drive a gigantic-flawless-anti radar-heavy weapon robot/mecha and blast away those who love endless war to the outer space, so they wont bothering us anymore..

Arya

Mind dreaming - its healthy:)
Ahh... all people...
MAy be we have to ask to "DORAEMON" (Cartoon from JApan)... to change the world to be better with the "magic door"...
Weekend - Ahhhhhhhhhhhh.

And here are the famous flake adverts
Ok, unlike the postings here, I never dreamed of being a scientist or a football player...

I have lived one of my dreams and that to become a U.S. Marine...retired 6 years ago after an awesome ride through two conficts and many ports of call!

My other dream is to own my own island, small hut (house), a nice cooler for my drink, and a generator to power my Tele, cooler, and computer (to stay in touch with everyone and the world), a boat to travel to the nearest mainland for the necessities (or pay someone to drop off a supply every month or so!).

Now, that, my friends, is a wild dream because no matter where you go or live, politics will always follow!

Rey
Hey Rey,

When you build the hut can I hire it out once or twice a year? I could really do with a week or two every now and then to vegetate ON MY OWN. I NEVER get to do it. Don’t get me wrong I love my family dearly, but I remember the good old days fondly not for partying and stuff but for having some time for myself to do nothing. If you can’t do it I may have to consider prison.

My wildest dream…

Regards,
Simon
MM my wildest dream usually has George Clooney in them!!
Hi!!
My dreams have been keep on changing time to time and situation to situation, however all of them were wildest at that particular time.
First dream was to become a big farmer so that I can grow huge crops so that no one can sleep empty belly.
Then to be a doctor, scientist, painter, sculpturist, singer, actor, fashion designer (still dreams for), chef, a looooooooooong list......
I have a dream the wildest dream that has always hold my heart and superseded all the dreams, is to be a mother/care taker for all those innocent babies who do not know what is the world around them and why they don't have any family to look at. Always dreamt to make a big home and take care of all their needs… so that one day they are able to make their life respectful.
I really find myself helpless why still I am dreaming and not able to make it come true...
THE WILDEST DREAM that makes me restless every time I think of or see/read those faces around me.

Regards
Secrets revealed!

My dream since childhood to become a doctor (family medicine or pediatrician) unfortunately i became R&D specialist, almost 15 years happened now still i have a dream to become a great doctor and open a hospital to serve hopeless and needy people.

Days, weeks, months, years passing....

Hopes this dream comes true!
Its late night. Thankfully its raining and its not as warm as it usually is (35 C at night...). I just got back home after having some beers with a couple of good friends. Now I just opened a Ouzo bottle... (Am I good doc??? :P)
Lots of thoughts flood my head about my future...

Dream A:

Taking a backpack with the necessary stuff. A few clothes, some water and food and just start walking towards the unknown world. Any good friend willing to do the same would be more than welcome.
Enjoying the early morning breeze in the edge of high mountain. Being surrounded by nature.
Meeting new people, learning new languages, adapting to new cultures, seeing new places, enjoying the beatiful scenery of mother nature!

Dream B:

Winning the lottery. Spending my money on trips travelling around the world... From the frozen northern lands, to a Safari in Africa, to Australia, to America (north, central and south), to Japan and anywhere really... But not staying in luxurious hotels and stuff. Nah! I want the poorest, harshest conditions.
With the rest of my money I would find cool, practical, productive and innovative ways to help people.
And when around my 60s I would have my own cool mansion in a quiet and beautiful island.

Dream C (the most realistic with a scope of 2 to 6 years):

Soldier in the special forces for 9 months (definately not part of my dream!!!)...
Then some postgraduate studies in some cool uni in Europe. Then a job in a huge company like unilever or nestle (hopefully :P ... or not? do i really want that???) OR a following PhD on nanotechnology or genetically modified foods... Then a research that saves the world... (do I really want that also?) ... I really don't know.

What I am afraid of...

Predermining and programming my future. I think thats the worst anyone can make to himself/herself.
Ending up living a routine life in a some sort of industry for the rest of my life and doing nothing "important" (I mean important for me as a person) than to help some company/guy to get richer and me spending my life next to pasteurizers, can seamers, pipes and valves.
Having to deal with people in a "big brother" environment in a daily basis.
Living only to work.
Not contributing to help "the world" in any way.
Ending up being alone in this journey called life.

It is already said... dreams change. I also do believe that.
And what is a man without dreams?

One of my best friends always told me those phrases:
- Dont worry.
- Everything is simple.

(I will add to that: things are as simple or as hard as we make them)

Well I think he is very right. He always was. I never saw him sad anyway. Never. And those two advices really helped me. Maybe I shouldn't worry so much about what is going to happen.

Thankfully I am not drunk enough to mistype! :P

Cheers!
Filip

Abdul sorry if I appear harsh but I don't think it will come true. Personally I believe you cannot just hope things will happen and expect it to be so. You have to make clear choices and then work damned hard to achieve them. If you really wanted it you would make that choice. Although I admit it is not always easy.

Hey Filip, I hope you are sober now. You have some great ideas there. You are young, I can tell, don’t worry all of your dreams and aspirations will be knocked out of you once you get on the treadmill. It happens to us all; I didn’t become a welder. My dream when I was 15.

It’s not possible for everyone to be Elvis or Scott of the Antartic, what you have to do is set yourself realistic and achievable goals. Not ones out in hyperspace. That may be your ultimate goal but there is a road that leads you there and there are lots of stops along the way. Each of these stops is your goal for now. Your goals will change as time goes by and you learn more and become more mature, but always have goals. Take small steps towards your goals, it may be arduous but nothing ever comes easy. Elvis didn’t wake up one morning and say “thank you very much” and that was that. He strived, he worked hard, he had talent and a vision; perhaps he also had some good fortune and we know he had good looks.

One step at a time and you’ll get there – where do you want to go?

Regards,
Simon
Hey Simon! Thanx for your advices!

where do you want to go?

If you ask generally... Everywhere! I love travelling!

If you mean for postgraduate studies then those are my choices for application right now:

- Wageningen university in the Netherlands
- Copenhagen university in Denmark
- Lund university in Sweden
- Cork university in Ireland
- Birmingham university in UK
- Ghent university in Belgium

...with Wageningen being my first choice! I will apply to all of them and hopefully I might get accepted in one of them. All are awsum universities and its still a very hard decision for me to take... but I have plenty of time to think while I will be in the army for the next 9 months. I will look for other universities as well... Hmm... I always loved space so I might as well apply to the European Space Academy. I think they have some kind of training classes/courses but I am not sure if they have anything to do with food science.
I found out this randomly and instantly Arya came to my mind who wants to be a Mangaka!

Thats for you Arya! Its a food science anime LOL!!!

Microwave bread recipe

Cheers!
