The main concerns with these sort of products will be speed of acidification and final pH.

In light of the recent bombings in London and the seemingly unnatural growing number of naturally disasters that occur, one can understand customers or suppliers of any product or service wanting to ensure the continuity of the business by minimising the impact of unexpected major incidents.

It makes sense to mitigate the risks where it is realistic and practical to do so and to have effective business continuity plans in place for all business critical activities.

Attached is a business continuity questionnaire that is currently being sent out by a major UK retailer to all of its suppliers. The questionnaire is quite useful insomuch as it provides us with some basic guidelines for a business continuity system that we can work with. I'm not sure whether there are any published guidelines or standards on business continuity / crisis management however I believe this will become a major area of business consultancy growth in the future.

How are you prepared for the unthinkable?

Regards,
Simon
