BRC Packaging Standard Help Required
Started by JimD, Jan 19 2009 02:38 PM
Firstly, let me introduce myself as a new member!
I work for an glue manufacturing company who supply various food manufacturing companies.
Our glue is not intended for direct food contact, and as such we have assessed ourselves as being Category 2 under the BRC Standard.
I have been tasked with pulling everything together in order to go for certification, but am struggling somewhat. We have ISO 9001, so some of the pre-requisites are already in place.
Main concerns are: pest control....would we require rapid closing doors to our production areas?
Hazard and Risk management System.....because of the way our product is made, we have identified only one control point, which is the standard QC testing we undertake. Has anyone else found a similar lack of CCP's
Has anyone else experience in this industry that can give me any advice??

Dear Jim,
Welcome to the forum
Not a packaging person myself (many people here are) but I know yr comment is echoed here. Have you looked at the model HACCP plan for a packaging line in the freely downloadable documents section yet ? My guess is this will add to yr comment.
