Contamination control

Dear All,
Just completing a final check of the new standard prior to my BRC inspection on 23rd and have seemed to have missed section 6.1.2 addition:
A written policy and documented controls shall be in place for:
ALL MATERIALS USED IN THE CONSTRUCTION, FIXTURE AND FITTINGS OF THE PRODUCTION AREA WHICH COULD BE CONFUSED WITH PACKAGING MATERIALS.
I am intending to write the above into the maintenance hygiene procedure and the handover from maintenance document and perhaps re-naming to maintenance / contactors hygiene procedure.
Anyone have any further ideas
Regards,
Steve

I think you're right Steve the 3rd requirement of 6.1.2 should be covered by safe building and equipment design and also preventive maintenance activities for equipment and machines, Central to this is the 'safe-sign off' following maintenance / tool changes etc. Of course this should also apply to contractors.
A note to add also consider product off-cuts.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Simon

Dear Simon,
Much appreciated, I had not considered product offcuts which are a big production side line in our business.
Thanks and Regards,
Steve
