Food Safety Certificate for Export goods
A Turkish customer of ours is asking for a Food Safety Certificate for customs. We have sent copies off all relevant documents but they are looking for a particular document signed and stamped by the local Environmental Health Officer to state the product is fit for food safety.
The example they have scanned over to us is a "Certificate of Health & Purity" from Worcester city Council.
I have been on our local Environmental Health Website and cannot find anything like this.
I have had a quick search of the IFSQN forum but can't find anything that looks relevant.
Has anyone else come across anything like this before?

In the packaging industry UK and Exporting I have never been asked for one, seen one or sent one. Surely confirmation of compliance with all relevant EC legislation will suffice along with BRC/ISO Certification and perhaps migration testing results. You could give your local EHO a call to check.Hi Simon,

We have already supplied all of info you mention - which is why we are puzzled.
I will try our local EHO & failing that try the Worcester branch to pick their brains.

PS thanks for posting the HACCP model for packaging industries ( I know this is a different subject ) but I found this model a useful guide which helped us review & amend our previous HACCP plan.
