For FSIS regulated plants, SSOP is often interpreted to include only activities related to food contact surfaces. Other sanitation related actions would be part of the Sanitation Perfromance Standard.


All this can be found under 9 CFR part 416. 416.12 starts the section on SSOPs.

Maybe the answer is in the link somewhere but I couldn't see it - Which plants are fsis regulated.? I presume seafood plants are not.

Seafood is not regulated under that section - it was for meat and poultry - although - catfish is supposed to come under FSIS inspection in early 2010.
