Dear monzer,

I dont know if these are fit in for you or no, but they were my best shots:

This is for SARS contingency Plan:
http://www.dhsspsni....-appendix20.pdf

This one is a document about Safe Handling of Laundry:
http://www.nhsfife.s...licies/GP21.pdf

As for the training, I think its better to seek it from the experts:

Hope that may give you a little hint.

HI again, I found a slide presentation about hygienic clothing and materials from my study lectures material. But do anyone know if it's legal to show slides of some company who has been in one of our lessons and made a presentation? I don't want to have problems Hygienic do you still need info, then maybe I'll send it to you private, or what?

Hi- Unfortunately I don't have anything relevant to send to you-but just a comment on using video clips for laundry training

I recently did some infection control training for a residential care company- for the laundry staff i had some nice-ish clips of the laundry process which i thought demonstrated the subject very well

However negative feedback from the learners on the first couple of sessions led to the clips being dropped in favour of a practical session in the laundry where we covered sorting ,temperatures, chemicals.dilution, temperatures etc etc- it was really useful as we managed to solve a lot of the (unpleasant!) issues they had (really I don't want to go there on a food forum!)-and the course feedback was very very positive

i think video is a good learning tool-but sometimes for practical stuff there is no substitute for some hands on training!

Mike

I decided to put here slides I've got.
So the presentation is from University of Copenhagen- course 270054 Hygiene and Sanitation. Presentation uploaded for students as a teaching material. I don't know how much useful it will be for you, but hope you'll find some ideas...

Dear Inesa:

Thanks for your sharing and for your interesting here.

:thumbup:thanks inesa.. thast great doc.
Dear Inesa,

Very interesting and useful attachments

Couple of comments -

(toilet cleaners)

In the past, products made with hydrochloric and phosphoric acids in combination with surfactants were used to remove toilet soils. But safety and ecological reasons very much precluded these types of formulations.

IMEX, despite it's user-related risks, hydrochloric acid is still a very popular and frequent major component.

self - cleaning of laundry
• BRC/IoP Global Standard – Packaging –Home Laundry
• 7.7.3 Self-care shall be permitted provided adequate controls and appropriate guidelines are in place.
Certification Bodies Position Statement:
If a site offers a system of self-laundry by employees to cover the above clause, we
would expect to see the following level of control for this to be considered acceptable:
• Employees shall have received written instructions regarding the laundering process
to be used and these shall be reinforced as part of an induction or other in-house
training programme.
• Employees must be provided with some suitable means to safely transport washed
garments from home to the workplace. (i.e. sealable plastic bags, or similar).
• There must be a defined responsibility within the company for monitoring the
effectiveness of the system. This may typically be achieved by visual inspection.
• There must be a procedure and system for effectively dealing with any case where
employees are unable to perform self-laundry, either through lack of diligence or
facilities. This system must be capable of being brought into immediate effect once a
problem has been identified.

(self-laundry)
Obviously (low) cost is a major incentive.
I visualise a small army of non-reusable (?) plastic bags marching in and out. Hopefully biodegradable.

The stated monitoring system is understandable but questionable IMO. I suppose it comes back to a risk analysis, eg what kind of process usage ? but for a high risk situation, some kind of intermittent micro. verification seems desirable. (There are posts on this forum giving local standards for such aspects, German / Austrian from memory).

Certainly generates some interesting potential for tricky audit questions, eg please show me yr (official?)plastic bag.

This is what I would call an "optimistic" procedure.

Rgds / Charles.C
The BRC seem to spend more time worrying about laundries than anything else.

The BRC/IoP requirements for category 1 are completely over the top when you look at the potential risk level and are frequently the subject of one of the exclusions presented at audits.

For food, the requirement is that the laundry is audited - it used to be just high risk manufacturers, but issue 5 extended the requirement to all foods. (The guidelines backtracked a bit on this)

There are probably about 30 or so laundry companies working with food manufacturers in in the UK and I am guessing a couple of thousand certified food companies. I am sure that the laundries are perfectly happy with having 60 audits during the year!
1 Thank

Dear Dennis/ Charls,

Dear Abdul,

those slides belong to a guy from a private company, he gave a presentation for students (including me). It took some time to get an answer from my teacher about those slides if it's ok they're uploaded here. In the beginning I thought if no one answers my query means no one cares about those slides who even don't have persons name on. But finally I received a mail that slides must be removed and if someone needs those slides they're welcome to contact the guy by mail.

Regards
Inesa

Dear Inesa,

Thank you for your kind reply. I had sent a mail long back to Mr. Denis and requested the slides , but no aswer yet. Can you please send me his email address? So that I can again request him. If possible do you able to share those slides with me? You can send to my personal email address

Thank you once again for all your kind support and I look forward to hearing from you.

Best regards

Abdul Jaleel

Dear All,

Today I came across a internet training regarding EN 14065 RABC. I had never heard of it, but it is a standard for industrial laundries.
I was wondering if anyone is requiring this standard from their laundries?

The link to the training: http://www.rabc-wfk....on.php?lang=eng

I hope it is usefull to anyone.

Dear Abdul,

It would be very much illegal if I sent you these slides when I know who they belong to. The World becomes very small when we communicate by internet.
I found his phone number and mobile phone, you can try call him. I'm sorry If they were mine would sent them to you, but now I only have my own slides for personal hygiene and slides presentation about cleaning...

Dear,

Is this available in English?

The link is to an English version of the training. Also available (via the link) in Polish, German and Czech.

Is this issue finished.  Did anyone ever find anything worth while?
