England grinds to a halt

Well it's happened again (just like last year) we awoke this morning to a thick (2 inch) blanket of snow and the whole country has ground to a complete halt. Last day of school before Crhistmas, what a nice finish for the kids.

Glad I'm not working today.

What's the weather like where you are? Picture?

Regards,
Simon

Dear Simon,

Iam not naive but i wish one day i would wake up and find this scene,Ithink it would be the most beautiful feeling to behold.
For us the temperatures here are 28 deg c.Its too hot here.Remember thats why our leaders are making the most noise at copenhagen climate talks.

Jeremy

Snowing again here today. It's been freezing for about a week and snowing on and off. I love it. I'm going through a lot of logs with the stove, but it's nice and cosy.

Rather than taking the car out yesterday I walked 4 miles into town and back. I slept well last night.

Simon
43 degrees Celsius here today. Might be getting more hot weather over the next 2 months!

Hi Hillsie,

My brother is a mental health specialist and his wife's a nurse, in February they are off to work in Australia for two years. The first 12 months will be in Alice Springs and the following 12 months will be in one of the major coastal cities. Their idea is that after two years they may should be eligible to live in Oz permanently. It’s a big move and I believe in Alice Springs a lot of his work will be travelling into the outback to work with the Aborigines. I think it will be quite hot there and maybe a little too hot for a soft pom. Mind you he’s probably not as soft as me as he has worked and travelled quite a lot in the USA, including Vegas and Arizona...and it get's a bit hot there I believe.

Anyway trhe snow is still here although it is getting warmer and turning slushy.

Regards,
Simon
We've had snow on the ground since 17th of December but starting to thaw today so I can finally get my car out of the street. A few feet of snow on the hills I am told - watch out for the floods next!
Dear Simon,

At least it gives a few of the older uns something to do at the weekend -

At least one other person must be delighted with the weather also !

The first westerly winds are due to hit Britain on Sunday for the first time in over 3 weeks. Finally some mild air might be coming our way. Fingers crossed

How I wish the snow storm there would come over here to the Philippines to cool down our hot or perhaps warm climate.

It's warming up in Machester and back to good old rain. I think we've seen the end of the snow for now.

Simon
