Hi all,

I need to assemble and train a team of internal auditors for BRC. Anyone got any endorsements to make of a 'cost-effective' in-house training provider who could come in? I have already gathered info from the BRC - not cheap...

Thanks.

Thanks for bringing this up D-D

I need the same thing in the U.S. - either in-house or off-site. Any recommendations for the United States would be greatly appreciated!

Wow just checked the BRC prices I have just had a couple of courses run by Poultec at half that price and they took 6 at a time so 12 new internal auditors for the price of one.
Thanks Lanser / diolch yn fawr Caz. Hope somebody can help BoomBoom too.

I am getting offers of 1 and 2 day courses. Obviously the longer ones are more expensive (though not that much and it does vary) but what do you reckon is "about right" for the duration? Is one day not really enough...?

Croeso D-D

Usually Internal auditing courses run for 2 days, with lead auditors running for 5 days

Thanks Caz, that's what LRQA offer.

Is Lanser still here? Poultec offer one day courses; was that enough you think...?
Dear D-D,

Decision about duration of training session depends on three main factor.

1- Personnel competencies. (Novice, Professionals, Already trained auditors in other standards etc.)
2- Investment. (Course fees, traveling cost for outside venues, number of of working hours consumed etc.)
3- Time-line (close deadlines, packed schedules, etc.)

It is obvious that in a day or two all the trainees do not learn all the auditing skills and become fully conversant with the auditing standard. IMO if your personnel are not competent enough you should consider a two day session because obviously two days are better than one day for learning something .

Hope it helps!

Zeeshan - some good input too; I have gone for a 2 day course. Thanks.
in the U.S., try www.qualitysupportgroup.com I have worked with them on food safety projects but have not attended an internal auditing course.
I agree training should not be rushed, but should also not be too long that it's boring. Duration and content are just two of many important considerations when designing a training course.

Simon
