Don't worry too much Abdul. Children swallow small stuffs all the time and gets passed out most of the time. Since the coin has no sharp edges, the chances of internal bleeding should be low.

As recommended by the doctors, observe the stool for the next few days and retrieve the coin.

Take care and update us on the outcome.
Sorry to hear that Abdul. Hope the coin passes out soon.
As Hongyun said, this is perfectly normal. There's no reason to think that your daughter will be harmed by this. I've heard about people swallowing much stranger (and much sharper) things and coming through fine.
Still the coin is in abdomen/upper intestine, second day already passed...
Let's see tomorrow.
I'm worried!
Dear Abdul,

I sympathise with you / yr daughter. The following extract will hopefully ease yr worries -

Once a coin has reached the stomach, it is of little clinical consequence. The maximum GI transit time for such foreign bodies in children is five days (Prog Pediatr Radiol 1969;2:286).
A coin in the stomach or intestines is of little clinical consequence, but it's always helpful to know if the coin was actually ingested; it just ties up the loose ends. In addition, occasionally one is surprised by other radiopaque foreign bodies ingested at a previous time. A possible evaluation for lead poisoning or other conditions may be prompted by radiographic results.
A smooth coin in the intestines could theoretically cause problems, such as intestinal obstruction, although that would be extremely unusual. I have found no such reports, and all subdiaphragmic coins seem to pass without incident. Once the coin is in the stomach, parents and doctors seem to forget about them. Still, I prefer to tell the parents to check the stool, and return to the family doctor for follow-up x-rays if they don't find the coin within seven days. Usually it passes, and the parents just get tired of mashing up the stool with a fork in an asymptomatic child, and forget my advice. More often the family doctor opts not to pursue it.

The next link offers more general comments on "swallowing". It is possible that some doctors may hv different opinions of course although most seem to agree that the throat / oesophagus area is the most sensitive step to "pass" through.

Hey Abdul

In the UK we have a child's game called Hungry Hippos and my son swallowed one of the balls about 1.5cm in diameter - didnt do him any harm although I never did find it in his stools - 4 years ago now. I, however have had personal experience of intestinal obstruction - believe me you'll know if it happens but the good doctors just opened me up and removed it - modern medicine is wonderful and the human body is even more wonderful at healing itself so no need to worry.

Rosie

Greetings for the day!
Thanks God,
Last night it came out with little abdominal pain, i feel very much relaxed, below is the analysis of coin and picture as attachment:

The shape of the coin is 7-sided and edge is smooth, weight is approx. 4.4 grams, diameter 21 mm, thickness 1.7 mm and the composition cooper-nickel.

No probs Kamwenji, thanks for the wonderful message and beautiful advice. I already passed your message to my daughter.
I'm happy the coin passed, they usually do without much trouble but I just saw this article in the NY Times about batteries.

More things to keep an eye on.
