Does ISO 22000 require an organizational chart and job description?
Thoughts?
A common but tricky question. With no doubt, it is not a clearly specified mandatory requirement of ISO 22000 to have documented organization chart and job descriptions but it is a good practice to document them. Documented organization chart and job descriptions not only standardize your channels for responsibilities, authorities and communications but also serve as satisfactory evidences against requirements of 5.4 (Responsibility and Authority) and as supportive evidence against requirement of 6.2.2 (e).
Let's see what are the other ideas around!

I would agree, there is no mandatory requirement but it is a good practice to show responsibilities and authorities.
Several other standards (I know BRC and AIB) require them.
