Section 6.11.3.2
I was wondering how you people go about answering section 6.11.3.2 of the SQF code.
What method did you put in place to insure that temperatures are logged regurlarily. Use of data loggers ? If so could you please submit some of the brands you are using ?
Thank you for your help on this.
door seals and the storage temperature at regular intervals during transit.
- Refrigeration unit is part of regular internal & external calibrations
- Transport vehicle is part of regular GMP checks
- On the Vehicle Checks form, specify timely checks during transit
If I understand correctly your answer, you would only be recording temperature upon loading and unloading. No recording during transport ? Because for the moment, it is not possible for us to have the truck stop and have the driver go and record a temperature on the road.
Would a risk assessment be legible for this part of the code. Say if we could demonstrate that the time needed to transport the product from plant to plant is not sufficient to warm the product if the refrigeration unit fails ?
Thanks again

Thank you for the info.
Yr last sentence looks very much like the end of an advertisement ?

Hi Olivier,
Yes, recording is at loading and unloading. Also, when the vehicle is switched on, the temperature is up and running, there is the initial record before the goods are placed in the vehicle.
I agree it isn't a likely response to stop the vehicle to check the temperature as is somewhat suggested in the SQF.
What sqf girl suggested sounds great. I guess your temperature logging procedure would depend on the following factors:
- how often you distribute; how many days per week
- how much stock is distributed
- type of product (level of high risk) distributed
- how often the vehicle stops per shift; number of drop offs per shift
- quality of the vehicle and your level of confidence in its refrigeration units
