Hi all,
Just wonder is there any concerns regarding the ashes that left on food (i.e. cake) after burning of cracker or candles ?
Or is there food grade crakes or candles ? some restaurant being creative and use firecracker as deco for food presentation so just wonder if any food safety issue that we need to be consider in selection the types ?

Not sure about firecrackers but I think that you will find the answer to candles here.

As far no, we buy cakes and candles separately and fix at home before the bash, that is our concern to take care of ashes and be cautious and not harm, candles are made up of wax mostly derived from paraffin or palm and are non-toxic, most of the birthday candles are safe but beware/take care with the ashes and burning of crackers.
Beware of the joke candles that cannot be blown out (they re-ignite when you think they are out). I was given a cake with those on once and when they burned down to the high-fat cake itself, the joke soon wore a bit thin...
Not much of the cake was left to eat and the whole thing became a fire hazard, never mind about anything to do with food safety!
