For US labeling I have information about http://www.fda.gov/F...ide/default.htm

For EU labeling
http://eur-lex.europ...040:FIN:EN:HTML

but I want to know more about How to identified/declare ingredients (if have a lot of composition ingredients)
Would anybody kindly give me sample picture of correct labeling of ingredients list (US & EU) for reference.

Thank you

Can anyone help Naamfon with this?
I basically use these rules of hand (EU legislation):

1. Ingredients are declared in declining order, with exceptions below 2%
2. Defined "containers" can be used if all constituents are present in roughly equal proportions (eg. herb mix, vegetable mx)
3. Declaring the meat content per species is bound by the meat definition and can lead to adding fat and connective tissue to the ingredient list.
4. If you make the suggestion that an ingredient is present, you need to indicate the percentage of that ingredient (eg chocolat cookie = X% chocolat)
5. GMO ingredients need to be declared in the ingredient name or with the use of a footnote.

For the US I would recommend the FDA site, in particular:
http://www.fda.gov/F...ide/default.htm

Thank you for helping . Naamfon reading about many regulation of USA and EU but some subject make me wondering such as
for chicken breaded frozen products has food additive A for coating if used 4 % but in finished products has residue of food additive A not than 0.5 % and food additive A have compound of it are A.1 , A.2 , A.3 so how to declare on food labeling
Hi Naamfon,
You didn't give much information about additives you use, but I think that this will help.
You have to decide according to downshown paragraph. It is from Directive 2000/13

4. (a) ‘Ingredient’ shall mean any substance, including additives, used in the manufacture or preparation of a foodstuff
and still present in the finished product, even if in altered form.
(b) Where an ingredient of the foodstuff is itself the product of several ingredients, the latter shall be regarded as ingredients of the foodstuff in question.
© The following shall not be regarded as ingredients:
(i) the constituents of an ingredient which have been temporarily separated during the manufacturing
process and later reintroduced but not in excess of their original proportions;
(ii) additives:
— whose presence in a given foodstuff is solely due to the fact that they were contained in one or more ingredients of that foodstuff, provided that they serve no technological function in the finished product,
— which are used as processing aids;
(iii) substances used in the quantities strictly necessary as solvents or media for additives or flavouring.

Wish you success with labelling :)

Thank you Ayayay :).

if naamfon used chemical A that have composition are (E340i)
Monopotassium phosphate 32%(E340ii) Dipotassium phosphate 30%(E340iii) Tripotassium phosphate 29% in production process. In finished products that have residuce not more than 0.5 %. my understanding that must label all.

so can I show only potassium phosphates (E340).

Hi,

i would appreciate if someone could help me how to list ingredients on label with US regulation. for example for baking powder, glucose syrup, margarine
