Hi Gourav,

You can contact CFTRI in India and they will be able to guide you further. Most of the developed nations globally uses either INS or name of the additive.

i hope this helps you.

Hi,
Thank you all.
In fact all the gazzette notofication were available on the Minisrty of Health web site a little ago. Since now FSSAI would be governing the food laws in India the section has been moved to FSSAI website and there all of them are not loaded. I did not download all of them and kept on my hard disc; hence the problem.
Nevertheless I was able to speak to authority in FSSAI; it is confirmed now that INS number is mandatory now in India.

Once again thankl you all.

Cheers

Gourav
