Is it ok for oxygen absorber packets to be in contact with product?

Hi all
Is there any problem while using oxygen absorber in packing material (eg: PET Jar, Cans etc ) with product (roasted nuts) ????
Is that a good practice according to HACCP view???
If we put oxygen absorbing packets along with product, the product remains fresh, and will not tent to rancid for a long time, but at the same time is this consider to be a forigen material in finished product (roasted nuts) ????
Kindly suggest how to explain this in HACCP
regards
BSV

Hello everyone, is there any legislation that prevents inserting such oxygen scavengers within food packets, even if the sachet says "DO NOT EAT"?

Dear bsv,
Might try this for an example -
http://www.agmcontai...sorb_it_fda.pdf
I guess this might be sufficient to prove that the item is not a safety risk for haccp purposes. ?

Very Very Thanks Charles for your great help....
I think that satisfy in the case of silica desiccant (using for moisture absorber).
but what if we use oxygen absorber,(the party is using oxidation of iron powder mechanism)
here is the formula of this
We use oxidation of iron powder.
Fe ? Fe2+ + 2e-
O2 + 2H2O + 4e- ? 4OH-
Fe2+ + 2OH- ? Fe(OH)2
2Fe(OH)2 + 1/2O2 ? Fe2O3·2H2O
My concern is... "is this oxygen absorber works out??? and whether there any legislative problems for using this or is it against HACCP principles ???
I am giving you the company's website address (www.lipmen.co.kr) who manufacturing and marketing these oxygen absorber
Please suggest
