Do these writers understand that “Certified Public Accountants”(CPAs) are paid by the firms they audit and are held to professional standardsthat dictate whether or not they can continue to earn a living that way?
Withvery few, but high profile, exceptions, this system works to keep the entireequities’ market in business. Food safety is well advised to follow such a successfulmodel!
The dichotomy of 3rd party Certification audits. You can’t deny it’s an uneasy partnership but in my experience most would opt for a rigorous but fair professional audit over a long lunch and a meaningless tick box exercise. It can be done.
This is not new.
Well, a company pays us to do a proper audit. Responding on the wishes of excellent levels, is not a proper audit.
On the other hand: audits are mostly announced and a lot of organisations really are fixed to do their bests during audit days. The audit is only a sample. We can not guarentee, that the organisation looks the same on the other 363 days of the year.

The fear of a jack boot wearing, clip board carrying, non-conformance machine breaking down the door at any moment stimulates a climate of constant preparedness.
