Looking for an Internal Audit Checklist covering BRC Requirements

We are a VERY small, family owned, manufacturing facility that just finished our pre-audit. We are having an issue coming up with a good Internal Audit tempate that covers everything the BRC is looking for. Would anyone be willing to offer some advice?
Also, we need to be 'certified internal auditors'. Suggestions on where to go for something inexpensive?

Thanks!

You have the answer to this question. If you have the BRC Standard, that is the checklist you need to use to check whatever the standard stipulates. The good thing with BRC standard is that, its not like ISO 22K where you come up with a checklist to audit the system, the BRC is itself a checklist.

I am a consulant and can tell you that, whenever we audit, we take the standard as it is and use it as a checklist; with ISO, YOU have to construct a checklist. Think this is ok

Some accredited BRC audit companies publish such checklists on their website. I have an excellent version 5 one but not seen version 6 yet. Check out Micro2 website, they might just have something published and it is usually free to download. regarding the internal audit certification there is a level 3 Audit and Inspection course certified by HABC (Highfield/Train2Train)) which is specially designed as a one day certificated course. I deliver this course for HABC and it can be seen on their website http://train2train.org/other/
Dear ksieb,

If you look around this forum, you will see that the term "internal audit" has a variety of interpretations.

The simplest is where only a desk-audit is carried out on documentation. Some people seem to "get away" with this.

The most global one (really a system audit IMO) is simply a condensed checklist covering the whole standard as per previous post in this thread.

Perhaps more typically, one does a trial walk/run of one's actual process / documentation etc and simply looks for deficiencies as compared to the full standard. The results (and any associated corrective actions which are often entered/resolved on same IA form) then enable a risk-prioritised version applicable to you to be quickly developed so that specific areas can be focused on for more frequent checking. The total requirements are then usually divided up over a time schedule (Gant form [??]), eg areas AB - month1, CD-month2, etc and with a random mix of inspectors (assuming you hv >1 ).

There are examples of individual audit/scheduling forms on this forum if you look around a bit (can't remember where, sorry). If you want to see some typical ISO internal audit examples, try googling "ISO9001 internal audit form".

This thread contains a "full" system checklist proposed for BRCver6 - http://www.ifsqn.com...dpost__p__48663

Hello,
The BRC global Standards website has a self assesment tool which can be used as a checklist. You can get this on the following link
