HACCP TEAM Exercises

Hi everyone,

I'm about 3 months in on developing a food safety management system. I've got a HACCP team formed, and I train them on Prerequisite Programs as I write them. Are there any other ways to get them more involved, other than the obvious training & Hazard Analysis. Are there any mock exercises that I can get them involved in? I want them to feel like they are a big part of this process so they dont lose interest. Oh by the way, we produce paperboard folding carton packaging. Thanks

You can run some drills but don't drill your people out.

Things like recall drills or what to do if you find that a supplier used a different material in a raw ingredient. I don't know your process it's hard to suggest things. What to do if a part of your HACCP plan fails etc.
Dear skredsfan,

the obvious training & Hazard Analysis.

I agree and would propose it be yr first step if not already done. IMEX, many companies are unwilling to invest even in this phase so at least you will be forewarned about likely (top) management committment.

Training videos are also very effective IMEX, and generally less boring. Can be followed up with quizzes. This could also perhaps lead into yr own suggestions.
