Is supplier approval documentation required from each plant?
If I am purchasing from one supplier who has several plants, should I be getting a supplier approval questionnaire from each plant? Thanks
Yes - as the different plants may have different audit/certification scopes. For example, one site locate at 'site A' may manufacture dry bakery mixes where 'site B' may manufacture wet bakery mixes.
Yes, you should request a questionnaire from each plant that manufactures ingredients supplied to you...in effect treat each plant as a separate supplier
The reason for seeking and obtaining data (questionnaires, specifications, certificates etc) is because each individual site is usually regulated, registered and certified separately. More importantly the actual risks will vary for each plant. If two plants are producing the same ingredient for example on similar production lines it cannot be assumed the risks are the same and therefore your assessment and approval should be independent.

George thanks for your answer.
we make a difference between contractor (for business) and each plant of the contractor(for quality). As mentioned before the risks may be different in each plant(e.g. cross contact)due to different installations/equipment) or products manufactured on the same line. HACCP has to be done individually.

Hi. It is possible for the supplier to list all manufacturing sites and summerize the requirements into 1 document. In NZ & Australia we use a Product Information Template from AFGC (Australian food and grocery council) which allows this.
