Hi everyone,

I was concerning about microbial standard for CIP/COP system by swab test (dairy plant). We found some problem that we swabbed filler machine after CIP/COP processing but we don't have standard limit for risk assessment. Could you recommend international or reference standard for these ?  Help me plsssss ...  >>> ^_^

 Many thanks,

Pimpat

Dear iojapp,

AFAIK there are no consensus international micro. swab standards although some countries do have their own legislatory limits or guidelines (unknown for yr case).

Are you referring to APC counts or ? Actual result ?

This data compilation may be of some help –

(added) PS - I would predict that for yr product / process / stage (ie post pasteurisation), any limit / guideline   will be at the lower /lowest end of the typical ranges mentioned in above tables.

Dear Charles.C

Thank you for your information. So I concern about APC, Coliform/E.coli, Y&M and Staph. But your information is great !!!!

As a dairy person, I'd be looking for <10 TVC, <10 Entros and if over 10 entro's doing e coli.

I wouldn't swab for Y&M or Staphs, but I might do for Listeria.

Hope this helps

Y&M & Staphs useful if manufacturing fermented dairy products.
