Environmental Management System Advice
Hi all,
I have been assigned with taking over the environmental side of things which I do not really have experience in and which requires a lot of work at the minute. There is a policy and that is about it. We are working to TFMS & BRC standards so wondering if anyone can give me any help on where to start or a line to follow. I presume I need to monitor water and energy usage and encourage recycling? We don't have effluent so waste is just a skip and we have started recycling. Do I use costs to monitor and aim at reducing costs?
Also, what do you understand captive to site to mean? (in regards to hairnets being captive to site) From talking to people there is a mixed view that captive to site means inside the building while others understand it as being inside the site parameter.
Thanks! :)
Probably a good idea would be to get a hold of ISO 14001 Environmental Management System Standards. You need policies, procedures, risk assessments, audits, management review, emergency procedures etc. You need measures and energy usage is obvious choice, but rather on units than costs as a unit cost can fluctuate.
Regards,
Simon
@Simon give you correct suggestion in other hand Captive Service is a portion of Business Process Outsourcing where an organization will use a wholly owned subsidiary instead of a Third Party Vendor.
