Hi,

I  need advice/  sugestion

is it better (or maybe how it  should be done correctly)  to prepare   prerequisite program  PRP according to PAS 220 ISO/TS 22002 like a despcription or a list of procedures and instructions.

for example point  1  layout of premises and bulidinds.

Do you describe how it look in your company , how it fulfil requirements , or  like a procedure ( scope,  resp

onsibilities, actions)

regards,

B. Nowak

Hi B.Nowak,

For a start PAS 220 has been withdrawn so although they are identical in wording, only TS ISO 22002 is relevant now.

Here is an example of the prerequisite procedures supplied in our FSSC 22000 Implementation Package

FSSC 22000 Food Safety Management System Compliance Summary - TS ISO 22002.pdf   298.96KB   410 downloads

You will see that we align the numbering with the clause of the technical specification for ease of implementation.

Tony

ok, thank you very much. May I ask you one more question - what is the diffrence between point 8.5 and 11 (11.1- 11.5) both  points refer to the same -  cleaning procedures, right? so can it be described in one point- 11.

If  some reqirements do not apply to my company  - (for example boiler chemical - we don't use steam ) it is better to write it  with note N/A   or  it is  better to leave them at all.

Dear B.Nowak,

You omitted to mention whether interested in ISO 22000 or FSSC 22000. It has some relevance.

The specific presentation format of the PRPs for yr site / HACCP system / ISO22000 is up to you but the content must be in compliance / satisfaction  with the requirements of the relevant standard. Tony’s layout  should assist your / the auditor’s  ability to check the PRP program for completeness and  appropriate correlation to the ISO/FSSC 22000 standard.

Regarding boiler chemicals et alia, the introduction of ISO 22002-1 contains this text (and some more following) –

Food manufacturing operations are diverse in nature and not all of the requirements specified in this technical Specification apply to an individual establishment or process

.

Presumably no boiler > no boiler chemical > No need for 6.3 ?

The use of iso 22002-1 (for food) is extremely convenient but, AFAIK, not mandatory to use for certification to ISO 22000. However, AFAIK, it is mandatory for certification to FSSC 22000.

Note that document iso 22002-1 is intended to be used in conjunction with iso 22000.

Some examples of  individual PRPs as utilised within the IFSQN,  ISO 22000 package (developed by Tony-C) may be downloadable from this site. :dunno:

When you have multiple requirements / standards that you need to comply to I would recommend having a mapping document for each standard. If you write and number your system to one standard it can become troublesome in the future with others are added. Logically break down your system into the individual pre-requisite programs and then reference/map to the standard.

For example if you get audited to x standard and it says you have to have a pest bait map, in your mapping document for that x standard, you state where in your FSM system that can be found.

1 Thank
