Cleaning underneath pallet rack

Good afternoon.  My company manufactures paperboard packaging.  We have a fairly large finished goods warehouse with double deep racking (with the bottom shelf approximately 12 inches off the ground).  We have a difficult time safely cleaning underneath the racking due to the fact that a cleaner must bend down rather far to reach all the way underneath the racking with a dry mop.  Is there anything available to automate this cleaning task (ie. like a wide iRobot Roomba for industrial application that we could send from one side to the other)?

Thanks in advance for your comments.

Can you occasionally remove the items from the bottom levels of the pallet rack, thoroughly sweep and clean the area and then replace the items? Ideally, you wouldn't want anything above their heads, but depending on how high your racking is, that may not be possible.

Still thinking on better solutions...

Thanks for your replies.  We can - and presently do - sometimes unload the bottom rack to make the task easier.  However, this is not very efficient given the size of our warehouse.

I do presently have a call in to Milestone Equipment.  Perhaps they will be able to help.

I have also located and sent an email to a company called Shuredon Technologies that might have exactly what I am looking for.

I'll keep searching while waiting to hear back from these companies.

Thanks again,

I suppose cost/benefit would be in order. Seems to me to be easier (and perhaps cheaper) to remove the bottom rack contents for cleaning.

I'd divide the racking in the warehouse up into sections and do one section per (some frequency based upon risk assessment).

Actually my company happens to face the same challenge. We simply remove all the items from the lower racking and clean frequently. We equally ensures that no item is kept beneath the rack.
