Hi Everyone

I just got the new position at work that is Quality Assurance Coordinator, the company I am working for is FSSC 22000 certified. So I am facing a challenging audit from Pick n Pay as my customer, they need that procedures or policies in place. I do have forms for keeping records related to that but not separate procedures because the standard does not require me yet.

Thanks

Dear Charles C

I mean Product Release, our product is released based on Micro results. As for reworks is something that we have not done yet. So the auditors want the procedures or policies in place.

Thanks

Dear ruhama,

Just a quick suggestion -

The usual audit required approach is by a procedure known as positive release.

If you try searching these 2 words you will find numerous generic posts which will probably include a "procedure".

The specific details will relate to the other queries in my previous post.

Dear Ruhama,

Hi, I'm newbie from Indonesia. Glad to meet you all.. :)

I think whenever your products need to reworks, you should compare it with standard of the product.

So, standard will be your baseline to decide whether these products should be rework or not.

If the product doesn't meet the standard, so you should rework it.

After the product meet standard quality, then the next step is release procedure.

The important thing to release your product is micro test.

Because, microbiology will affect your product quality: speed of your products spoilage (shelf life) and also hazard potency of the product if it contains pathogens.

You can start making the procedure by using flowchart.

Federika

Dear rosephin,

Thks yr input.

Actually it depends on the context, ie interpretation of "product release". You may be right but based on many previous threads here, the audit requirement for a FS system is usually of wider scope, eg includes the haccp component of FSSC22000.

work you procedures in such a way that the analysis of the final product is just there to validate the effectiveness of your system. HACCP principles will definitely come in handy in this regard (assuming your final product is a food)

dear Sthembiso,

Thks for the post but I find it rather confusing.

Are you defining HACCP  "Verification" ?

As rework policy you could have a document describing in which case you do a rework of the product and in which stage of the process will be introduced, also if the ir a limit of amount in case you mix rework with new product (ie in juice industry they mix different batches to balance acidity). An FSSC auditor accepted this as a rework policy a few months ago.
