Rework Procedure
Any help with this would be much appreciated.
Many thanks

Below is a link to a discussion I had here on the forum about rework:
https://www.ifsqn.co...chips-pretzels/
The following is the simple policy that we came up with based on discussions on the forum here and with some customers of ours.
--------------
It is the policy of XXXXXX that we do not rework products. To clarify that statement, three definitions are given below. If analysis of the product dictates, we will recycle or reprocess a product.
Rework: treatment of product by a process different than what was
originally used to produce the product.
Recycle: treatment of a product through a predetermined redirection of
product to a previous step in the process.
Reprocess: retreatment of product by the same process to provide
acceptable quality and/or food safety.
--------------
So our conclusion is that, for instance, redrying a product that is high in moisture is reprocessing as opposed to reworking. We will send a product back to some point in the process, if need be to bring it into spec.
