What kind of "Threadlocker adhesive" to use?
Hello Friends,
I have a question about a point that we found during the haccp analysis after review our equipment maintenance process.
Our maintenance technician said that they found some "Threadlocker Adhesives" in the market (Loctite), and they want to know what kind of adhesive can be used in the manufacturing process?,
here are two types:
1.- that meet the "NSF Standard 61". (the standards to be used in areas affecting drinking water).
2.- that complies the FDA 21 C.F.R. §175.300.
What type do you recommend?, or if is there any other brand in the market that "meets" some standards?.
Best regards.
Roberto.
I like loctite - but it's nto listed as approved. The NSF has a list of adhesives that meet the standard, you can searchtheir website for adhesive under 61.
-NSF is enough?.
regards,
Roberto.
We've recently begun using the Locktite 2046 because it is approved by the FDA for incidental food contact i.e. treated like an additive. Seems to work for us so far!
Incidental contact is rated H-1, it will say H1 and have an NSF logo on the bottle
