I'm looking for recommendations for a label maker?

I'm looking for recommendations for a label maker, the unit itself and labels are not expensive. Labels that withstand being on the plant floor.

It might also be dependent on what and where you are going to put the labels and what their intention is. 

What is your environment? Cold, wet, hot...?

How long do the labels need to stay legitable?
How quickly do they need to print?
Ink Jet, laser?

I need one of those as well for so many things!

I realized I didn't mention the intend purpose or objects I was labeling until I hit the post button. But my QA responsibilities kept me for fixing it  or replying til now and cough cough the 4th of holiday.

I'm looking for a utensils and container labeler. Ambient temperature wet and dry (mostly wet) and labels must be resistant to solvents (alcohols, acetone) to label brushes, brooms and containers.

 

I really need something affordable and cost effective  

we used our laser printer on some label sheets we got from keller online, they were really tough and allowed us to put a lot more info on compared with a traditional label maker

WE use a Citizen label maker, with the ribbon that is heat applied to the label stock, they are very durable.  They are not too terrible expensive and the labels come in various sizes and shapes. Hope this helps. :)
