Good afternoon IFSQN world,

I am less than 48 hours away from my first SQF Desk Audit. I am looking for experienced SQF Practitioners to give any last pieces of advice. I am so excited and proud to have my Food Safety system looked at by a professional. Any last minute advice will be helpful.

thank you,

:happydance:

Don't panic.

Good luck

Ok... this is really important that you do the following in order:

1) Breath

2) Tell yourself it's going to be ok

3) Hide

lol :roflmao:

What I did when we had our SQF desk audit looming was to just look over the code and make sure I had all of my policies in order and all relevant documents to support them on hand.  Really we put them all in a binder in order so it was literally flip page and go section by section.  I made sure that all of the documents were the right version and checked my doc log to ensure that it accurately reflected the version and revision date.

Good luck!  Believe in yourself and your system.  It's going to be ok :doctor:.

Good luck!
Stay calm and relaxed. My experience is that the build up to the audit is much more stressful than the actual audit itself. Use the audit as a tool to learn the code from the auditors point of view.

Good luck! :sleazy:

If the auditor that is performing the desk audit is also performing the facility audit, take the opportunity and ask questions.  From my experience the auditor is not out to fail you.   Good Luck!

Best advise is to BE ORGANIZED and practice in "audit situations". Audit yourself...then do it again.

Breath.

Relax.

Hope that the auditor has a hangover.

Good luck!

Take your auditor to a nice lunch!

Drink heavily before, during and after  ....okay maybe not the best advice.....go for afterwards.   :roflmao:   Really just stay calm, keep breathing and focused.  Also important to not take any suggestions or observations personal.

Snookie hit the nail on the head. I keep getting defensive and taking things personally. Half way done, half way to go. Cocktails will be in order come 5 o'clock.

You are not taking a deep breath and relaxing like I told you to...

Don't be defensive take it all as a learning opportunity that will help you make your food safer :doctor:

It's easy to take it personal as we take pride in our work and hope we have covered all the bases.  Another point of view and fresh eyes can be valuable.  Sometimes you will get an auditor who just has their own preferences and think their way is the only way and those you just have to humor.  As Chris J and Mr. Incognito said, use it as tool and learning experience.

SO how did it go Mduane???

Interested in how it went?
