How is Product Trace affected by Allergens?

2.8.2.3 The product trace system shall take into consideration the conditions under which allergen containing foods are manufactured and ensure full trace back of all ingredients used.

-SQF Code 7.2 Edition

I don't understand why this is necessary.... Can anyone provide an example of a situation which fits under this but not under the normal Product Trace program (2.6.2.)? \

Thanks!

There is no difference. In fact, here you can reference back to your SOP 2.6.2. I think the code here is simply asking that you have identified all your allergens to be aware of what lines you run them on and when you run them and is it documented that "allergens" are being run on a production worksheet. Make sure your 2.6.2 mentions something about taking allergens into consideration.
