Hi, Donna!

I think I need a bit more information. Is your topic what happens with Listeria and other pathogens in your product? The implications of having it in your project?  It would help to know what your product/project was, limits of Listeria, etc, you were looking at, is there a cooking/kill step, etc, etc.

You'll find quite a bit of helpful information here, we just need more detail if you can provide it!

Thanks!

I have to create a basic project proposal and these are the 3 parts i have to discuss:

Discuss a project proposal aimed at solving an industry related challenge.

Describe methods of primary and secondary data collation.

Describe the project’s implications to an assessment panel.

My project is basically on getting rid of the listeria I have this so far for the implications:

Positive Implications

  • Reduced wastage

  • Reduced cost on logistics and produce

  • Reduced amount of re-work

  • Reduced amount of labour

  • Better staff morale

  • Cleaner and safer work environment

  • Increased customer confidence

Negative Implications

  • Increased costs on Lab work

  • Slowed production - increased cleaning during production

  • Increased cost of cleaning chemicals

  • Extra paper work

  • Hours lost due to re-training

Look up what Listeria can do to the body, recalls, medical bills, lawsuits, death settlements, negative impact from the news.

Yeah I have all of that in the intro and stuff its just the implications part got me confused

Hurray, I finally get to use this - http://books.google....id=bFpzNItiO7oC

This is a promising routine which should be studied more in depth as a possible standard program in the removal of Listeria (species) found in food manufacturing plants.

I don't get what you mean by the 'Oh Bullshit' book lol

It's a really big help when trying to rephrase things to sound official...got me through many a final paper

 Hi Donna

I think you are 'right on the money' in post #3 - implications (for me) are a cost/ benefit analysis of the project to demonstrate that it is worthwhile to complete it!

If I was assessing whether this project was to go ahead, I would  also want to see some figures attached to those costs and benefits

eg How much would the extra lab work cost?

How much time would I save from reduced rework, wastage etc

If we don't run it what are the potential 'hidden' costs- lost business, legal action, staff turnover from low morale etc ( eg find some recent cases & quote them)

Good Luck!

Mike

Dear Donna,

You seem to be avoiding answering queries as in Post #2 ?

I appreciate the detailed info. may be proprietary but there is a well-known idiom -

******* IN = ******* OUT

No offence Intended.
