Hello from Waycross, GA

Hi!!! I am Carrie Benton, the QC Supervisor at American Egg Products (Cal-Maine) in southeast Georgia.

I have been with this company almost 4 years.

When I started, the company had never been through a third party audit, however, after my first year - we successfully passed an AIB audit.

Our parent company, Cal-Maine, then required us to go SQF level 3 - to which we have now had 2 successful audits with SQF.

Prior to this position I had no QC experience, but I learned that I absolutely love my job and hope to remain in the position forever!!

I still have many questions and a lot to learn...but I also have a lot of knowledge in QC and SQF.

I look forward to gaining more education from this website and I love that many of the questions I have had have been asked by someone else already on the forum and I get the answers I need!!

Hi Carrie!  I know what you mean....I love being the SQF Practitioner at Fondarific in Savannah, GA., going on four years now.  It's a very rewarding job knowing you are helping to provide Safe Quality Food to the public!!!  I just wish every food manufacturer would impement SQF, we would all be safer for it!!!

How terrific to see fellow Georgians on IFSQN. I have been an SQF Practitioner in Savannah for three years now. I transitioned from a background in environmental testing and so far I have enjoyed the challenges of food safety management. Challenges...there are many...but our company strives for continuous improvement. This site is a valuable resource.
