Compressed Air - What tests do I have to request?

Dear All,

Can anybody help me. I am confused regarding the Compressed Air Microbial Testing. What test do I have to request. Is that yeast and mold and Total plate count? Is there any standard amount of yeast and mold and tpc for compressed air? We are supplying packaging material such as tissue paper products.

Thank you. Help please.

So you are not a producing factory?

I don´t know whether there are any requirements for non-food production, but at least I have never heard of it before.

Who told you to do microbiological testing?

In the following link, you will find an excellent article that can serve to define the type of air you are requiring; either way, do not forget that the most important in the design of any control measure is to perform a risk analysis.

Dear jel,

It is a nice (food) document, particularly the intro/table,  but, from a quantitative POV,  is IMO somewhat self-destroyed by its commercial bias towards "Best".

@ mary rose vegara, as you can see compressed air standards do exist but will probably depend on the degree of  "aseptic level"  conditions you require for yr process.?

this (food) data may help -
