Does anyone know of a company that makes allergen protein residue testing swabs as well as specific allergen residue test swabs?

Thank you

3M™ Clean-Trace™ Surface Protein Plus would work if you're not required to validate specifically against a protein.

Your best bet is to send out your 3-D Allergen test kit from http://www.neogen.co...S_FA_Index.html and send to FARRP (Food Allergy Research & Resource Program) which is based in University of Nebraska Lincoln http://farrp.unl.edu...analysisoptions.  They're a reputable establishment and are known for their validation. I have used them before as well. I would contact them to get more direction as to how many swabs are needed a control positive a control negative, rinse water etc.

Hope this helps.

One of our customers is asking for validation of our sanitation program for allergens.

They are asking for us to do specific allergen reside tests where ever we can.

We currently have almost all tree nut varieties as well as peanuts, wheat and soy.

The issue im coming across is that Neogen Reveal swabs is what i would like to use, they are specific and only take 5 minutes for results but they do not have all the tree nuts that we process. For this i would have to do the protein residue testing.

I would prefer not to purchase two separate allergen tests, from two different companies.

Im looking to see if any company offers both.

IEH Labs can help with testing, validation, or advice.  Please contact me directly at steven.gendel@iehinc.com.

Hi Weebus90,

I'm reading the March 2015 edition of QA magazine; in it is an ad for ELUTION TECHNOLOGIES, immunoassays for the detection of food allergens. elutionstechnologies.com

It looks like they have kits for 12 different allergens/sensitizers

It may only be the truth in my own mind, but I have the notion that FARRP, Food Allergy Reasearch and Resource Program at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln is rather considered the ultimate clearing house and authority on all things allergen here in the USA.

Copy/pasted below is information. https://farrp.unl.edu/ Consider posing your questions to them.

Food Allergy Research and Resource Program

FARRP was established in 1995 as a cooperative venture between the University of Nebraska and seven founding industry charter members.  Today, FARRP has more than 70 member companies, more than one dozen staff members and several graduate students.  FARRP has two primary missions:

Mission 1
Develop and provide the food industry with credible information, expert opinions, tools, and services relating to allergenic foods.

Mission 2
Develop and provide the agricultural biotechnology industry with credible information, expert opinions, tools, and services relating to novel foods and food ingredients including genetically modified products.

FARRP takes a comprehensive approach working with and collaborating with research institutions, governmental authorities, consumer groups, and scientific societies around the globe to share our experience and knowledge to improve the safety of food products for consumers with food allergies and sensitivities.
