Well would you credit it.

Transportation & Storage Standard

I doubt it but you never know...

Simon
Simon,

You need to copyright this site, it seems that people are nicking our ideas.
Looking back perhaps we did miss an opportunity to document our brainstorming into a document. Guidelines for transport and distribution are not exactly a "how to build a nuclear reactor" but there were none available at that time. I suppose we can put it down to naivety and the fact we let the thread fizzle out.

It will be interesting to see the content of the IFS guidelines when they become available.

It's also interesting to see the IFS have teamed up with EurepGAP on this.

Regards,
Simon
This standard was due for release in April. There doesn't appear to be any more news on the IFS website. Do any insiders know what is happening?

Thanks
I don't Yorky but according to TSO the BRC Global Standard - Storage and Distribution is due to be published in August. Maybe they are waiting for that.

Thanks for that Simon, I will certainly be ordering a copy.

It also seems to be of broader interest than its title suggests because it covers the following:

Product Inspection/Sorting

Contract Packing (Repacking, Assembly Packing)

Quantity Control Inspection

Contract Chilling/Freezing/Defrost Operations

There is a link to order the standard on the IFS website under shop.

Thanks alot for this information.

I will buy both BRC / IFS to compare.
Hi Yorky,

did you find out something about IFS Logistic? It's a funny standard, isn't it?

I have my first two or three "prospects" to consult...

Peter
Hi Peter,

Where have you been?

I haven't got hold of the standard yet but I have ordered both the IFS and BRC logistics standards today. I will let you know what I think when I receive them.

The first thing to note is the IFS costs 39 Euros and the BRC costs £90!
Dear All,
