Raw material segregation
We use 2 allergens (wheat and milk) in all products that we produce. Therefore, we have no allergen clean up procedures. Do we still need to segregate the raw materials in the warehouse? Special clean up procedures? If so - why?
Thanks!
AS long as you document a risk assessment that says both allergens are present in all products IMO you should not need to be concerned with segregation for allergens.
Dear
I agree with Sandima. We are talking about risk and risk minimization. The target of segregation is the reduce chance for cross contamination. If all products contain both there is no risk of non-declared allergens. But you should have a look on cross contact in your supplied raw materials. The general principles of GMP and allergen management are unchanged.

Depending on the product and what else may be in the warehouse, I anticipate the answer may be as to the requirements of the USDA or the FDA.
