BRC Clause 4.2.1 - Security Assessment

dear all,

 

according to brc  global standard for food safety clause 4.2.1 we have  to keep documented assessment of security arrangements. is there any format. in our company we have CCTV camera and security persons available throughout the whole day and good compound wall also. then how i assess the security system and document that for getting brc certification. our preassessment is over but i have to perepare that before main audit and main audit is on 29 and 30 june. so kindly share details.

Hi Rani, 

 

I would suggest, put all the controls that you have talked about above in your email in a risk assessment format and review your risk assessment  to see if it meets the requirement of BRC. 

 

There is a template that you can download and adapt it to your site and requirement for site security from this website.

I have seen a few of these sort of checklists and they are quite useful but please consider this BRC requirement when assessing your security measures: 'Areas shall be assessed according to risk; sensitive or restricted areas shall be defined, clearly marked, monitored and controlled.'
