Using a septic system in an RTE food processing facility

Hi There,

 

Just curious to see if there are any regulations on using a septic system in a food processing facility for RTE products. 

 

Any feedback using CFIA, HACCP, SQF, or USDA would also be extremely helpful!

Like any other waste water system you just need to be able to prove that there cannot be any back flow from the septic system into the potable water lines.  Have you performed a water analysis to prove that the system can handle the amount of water you will use in a day/week?  If the septic system isn't large enough to handle your process, CFIA may well reject your plans
