Chocolate and bread decorations display
Dear All,
Can someone shed some light on my query as below.
Since we have got few chocolate and bread decorations display (not covered, 3 months old) at our buffet area, from the food safety perspective; please guide me the effects and consequences which could be occurred. However, I suggested shift/remove these decorations to non-food surface area.
Thank you in advance for your suggestions and comments on this!

Are these items made from chocolate or bread?
Hi Setanta,
The decorations (statues) some are made by chocolate and others in bread.....
Dears,
Any suggestions or comments please……
Is it clear that they are not mean to be eaten and for decoration purposes only?
Is there any possibility that a child (who cannot read) may eat it?
Is there a possibility that these statues can come into contact with and contaminate other foodstuffs that are meant to be eaten?
Hi Simon,
I appreciate your prompt reply.
Yes, it is meant for decoration purpose only. Tag has not been placed on chocolate statues but children’s cannot reach it. There is a likely possibility to come in contact with ready to eat food as one statue is placed in between salad and pickle section.
However out of my curiosity, can we keep chocolate sculptures on room temperature 21°C for months in between ready to eat foods?
Kind Regards,

Here is my thought on the subject. If are leaving food items out with no temperature control and no protective storage, they will decay, possibly start to mold and could become infested. NOT something you want next to your food items, OR on display.
If you are displaying real bakery items, you will need to change them out much more frequently.
