AIB - sanitation requirement for packaging manufacturer

Hi,

We are a packaging manufacturer and we are pursuing AIB food safety certification.

I was wondering if packaging contact surfaces require sanitation.  Some of these packagings would be in direct contact with food, such as chocolate boxes and foil wrap.

Thank you!

Sofe

Hi Sofe,

From the AIB standard (which implies they do):

3.5 Product Zone Cleaning
3.5.1.6 Product contact surfaces, product zones, and equipment that require sanitizing are cleaned and sanitized.

Regards,

Tony
