Clause 1.1.1 and 1.1.2 BRC v7 - policy and objectives
Hi all,
I am review the objectives an the policy for 2016 but I have some question, please could anyone help on this.
The company has 2 diferent BRC sites with diferent activity, until now the policy and objectives were set for the conpany , so both sites had the same objectives, signed by the owner of the company.
If now, for BRC v7 for this 2 clauses the company was changed with the site, the policy and objectives must signed by the manager of the site? in this case the owner ( the senior manager, the big boss )is not need to signed these?
Thanks
Cristina
Hi Cristina,
Perhaps this from BRC Guidance will help:
Clause 1.1.1 Interpretation: Documented policy
The policy is signed or endorsed by the person with overall responsibility for the actual site, to demonstrate the commitment at senior management and site level. Where the policy is a group or company-wide statement, the site management should endorse it, for example by countersigning the statement.
Kind regards,
Tony
Many thanks, Tony. This is for help
Dear All,
Please advise me if above objectives are preperly set to comply with the clause 1.1.2 from BRCv7.

Hi Cristina,
Objectives should be measurable so I would suggest you are more specific with your targets. You may also want to include other targets such as:
- 10% reduction of complaints year on year
- > 98% food safety audit score
- 100% investigation of incidences of ill health or injury.
- < 1% downgraded product
- > 99.9% compliance with microbiological criteria
- No major GMP non-conformances
Kind regards,
Tony
