Dear All

I want to clarify few things related to above topic

A )

If we have a product packed in a certain packing material / packing material combination which has a shelf life, and if we are re-packing it in a packing material/material combination with more barrier properties than the earlier, the shelf life can be extended ? or reduced ? or be the same ?

B)

When we are giving shelf life to a product which has many ingredients, and undergoes few unit operations, do we need to make sure the shelf life of each ingredient does not exceed the shelf life of the final product despite undergoing few unit operations?

Thanks

Hi Rushdi,

i fear there is insufficient information for "A, B", eg -

What is the product/style of packaging/shelf life involved, is the shelf-life based on quality or safety, are any further process operations done prior to repacking (if so, what?), how is it stored / how long before repacking  ?

Legally it may also be a question of how yr labelled "shelf life" is locally defined ?

AFAIK, a "mixed" product shelf life is typically based on that of the shortest-"lived"  ingredient.
